Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co. announced the winner of the company’s Gator Giveaway Sweepstakes. Jeremy Eckroth, an environmental specialist at the Falkirk Mining Company, submitted the winning entry.

 Boart Longyear announced that founder Edmund J. Longyear is nominated for inclusion in the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame.  

 Atlas Copco CMT USA announced the appointment of Rob Root to manager of the company’s Elko, Nev., store. In his new role, Root will report to Ed Tanner, vice president of Atlas Copco Store Operations for Mining. 

 A few years back, I had the opportunity to travel to the beautiful country of Chile, specifically the iron mining region of the Atacama Desert.

 Atlas Copco recently announced the release of a reverse circulation kit for the company’s DM45/50 mid-range blasthole drill. The company says the kit adds a new dimension of in-pit grade control.
