On today’s Drilling In-Site, episode 12, we speak with Dr. Charles Landis. He got his Ph.D. in geology from Texas Tech, and has spent much of the decades since pushing the envelope on drilling and completion fluids in and out of the oil patch. He’s currently chief technology officer for Integrity Bio-Chem, leading a mission to “provide innovative chemical solutions” for the industry. We brought Landis on to hear more about that development process.

“There are two great vehicles for entering the American private sector market: there are people who are in trouble, and people who are growing their business,” Landis says of developing new products. Both can give good field-tested results, he says, but working with each as an innovator requires a different approach.

Have you field tested new products or equipment? As a contractor, were you trying to solve a problem you had or to improve on things already in place? Hear how Landis handles each type of client, as well as his perspective on bringing new drilling fluids from concept to product. Check out today’s episode to hear more.
