In a continued effort to prepare young people for safe entry into the workforce, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has renewed a key alliance with the Pennsylvania OSHA Consultation Program and Upper Bucks County Technical School.
Signed on July 28, 2025, the renewed five-year agreement reinforces a longstanding commitment to equipping high school students with critical safety and health training before they begin careers in industries like construction and healthcare.
Through this alliance, OSHA and its partners will collaborate on developing curriculum and training materials that address common workplace hazards. These include fall risks, electrical dangers, injuries from being struck by or caught in equipment, chemical exposure, and improper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Special focus will also be given to material handling and industry-specific risks in construction and healthcare environments.
“This alliance plays a vital role in protecting our youngest and often most vulnerable workers,” said an OSHA spokesperson. “By educating students early, we’re building a culture of safety that can last a lifetime.”
The initiative is part of OSHA’s broader Alliance Program, which fosters partnerships with unions, trade organizations, educational institutions, and community groups to promote workplace health and safety. In addition to training, the program ensures workers understand their rights and employers are aware of their legal responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
For Upper Bucks County Technical School, the partnership means students will gain not just technical skills but also the knowledge to protect themselves on the job—an advantage as they enter the workforce in high-risk industries.
