Flomatic has announced that all of its VFD Series check valves are NSF/ANSI 61 certified for drinking water systems. In addition to NSF/ANSI 372, the low‐lead standard has a weighted average of 0.25% lead content by dry weight.

NSF/ANSI 61 – Drinking Water Standards establish stringent national requirements for equipment that comes in contact with potable water. The test uses different water pH levels for a more challenging chemical certification.

Flomatic has a wide range of patented VFD check valves configurations in unleaded bronze, stainless steel and ductile iron, specially designed for use with variable‐frequency drive (VFD) controlled submersible pumps. In a release, the company says a standard check valve will “chatter” and be noisy when a VFD goes to low flow conditions, causing noise, premature wear and eventual failure. Flomatic says its VFD valves are designed to minimize flow losses and hydraulic shocks in the pumping system.
