NGWA Announces Supplier of the Year
Award Goes to Pumping Systems Educator at Gicon Pumps & Equipment
Mark Durham of Gicon Pumps & Equipment Ltd., based in Abernathy, Texas, is winner of the National Ground Water Association’s (NGWA) Supplier of the Year Award.
“The NGWA Supplier of the Year Award is a very significant and meaningful milestone, not only for me but for everyone involved with Gicon Pumps & Equipment,” Durham says. “No individual accomplishes this award without a team effort from all members of the company, the customers and the vendors.”
Durham has led more than 30 48-hour training courses in pumping systems theory and application during the past 20 years. Approximately 600 people, including water well system contractors and engineers, pump system professionals and fellow employees, have sat in on the sessions.
The Supplier of the Year Award goes to someone who demonstrates leadership and volunteerism in promoting groundwater to the industry and public. The award will be presented in December at the 2014 NGWA Groundwater Expo in Las Vegas.
NGWA is a nonprofit that supports responsible development, management and use of water resources. It’s comprised of groundwater professionals ranging from contractors to equipment manufacturers to scientists and engineers. For more information, visit www.ngwa.org.
