Errickson Equipment Unveils Drill Systems Casing Advancement System
Errickson Equipment has taken the wraps off its Drill Systems CR series Dual-Rotary Casing-Advancement system.
The company, which touted the new system at the recent National Ground Water Association Expo in Nashville, has put more than 40 years of experience into developing the system, which can add dual-rotary drilling and casing advancement capabilities to existing equipment.
Errickson has three models available to meet the scope of various drilling jobs.
• The CR-12 weighs in at 2,200 pounds and handles casing from 4 inches to 12 inches.
• The CR-16 weighs 2,800 pounds and works with casings from 4 inches to 16 inches.
• The CR-26 handles casings from 4 inches to 36 inches, and weighs 5,500 pounds.
Models range in torque from 55,000 to 180,000 foot pounds and range in static load from 155,000 pounds to 1.4 million pounds. All three models deliver up to 60 rpm. In addition, all three feature: heat-treated tool steel grips, top and bottom tapered roller bearings, R&R Planetary gear reduction, Garlock Klosure seals, vertical or horizontal use, several mounting configurations, and much more.
The company says the CR series allows drillers to add the benefits of dual-rotary—like time savings and better drilling in unconsolidated formations—to their existing rig without paying the significant cost of a new dual-rotary rig. The company says the CR series can accommodate many existing rigs, box leads and excavators.
