Atlas Copco CMT USA announced the appointment of Rob Root to manager of the company’s Elko, Nev., store. In his new role, Root will report to Ed Tanner, vice president of Atlas Copco Store Operations for Mining.

“Rob brings a great deal of management experience to this key position,” Tanner said. “The Elko store serves a wide customer base and involves many business lines. Rob has the unique ability to manage multiple contacts, projects and issues.”

Root will be responsible for all store operations, including personnel in parts, service and sales. He joined Atlas Copco as national service manager in 2010. The company credited him with streamlining inventory control, logistics and procurement in that role for all U.S. mining and construction operations. Prior to that, he worked for a major Colorado dealer as parts operation manager.
