I am
finding that due to the lack of new construction, water well drilling is slow.
Many of the drillers are diversifying into the abandonment of oil wells, and/or
they are getting into geothermal loop installations.
In
October this year, I called on drillers in northwestern Pennsylvania, many of
them rotary and cable-tool drillers. Most of the rotary drillers are the
younger generation. I was surprised at how many cable-tool drillers there are
in this part of Pennsylvania.
During
the next few months, we will focus on the electrical side of pumped water
systems. We’ll start by looking at the components in two-wire and three-wire
single-phase systems.
Splicing
submersible pump cable is part and parcel of every submersible pump
installation, because every submersible pump installation has at least one
splice, between the motor leads and the pump cable.
