The EPA has been running these sampling surveys since 1983, building what’s now the longest-running and most comprehensive data set on Great Lakes health.
“These investments will make drinking water systems more resilient to future storms, helping to ensure that communities have uninterrupted access to healthy water,” said NCDEQ Secretary Reid Wilson.
Others have voiced concern that the administration’s emphasis on permitting reform and energy expansion could ultimately prioritize industry growth over ecosystem health.
“Paige did a great job as Associate CFO in the first administration,” said former EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler. “She has the experience and knowledge the agency needs.”
Both pilot programs are central to the administration’s nuclear strategy, which positions next-generation reactors as key assets in national security and energy independence.
“Due to the anti backsliding provision in the Safe Drinking Water Act, it is illegal for EPA to arbitrarily decide to repeal or weaken existing drinking water standards.”
The Office of Research and Development, once central to the EPA’s science-based policies, is being dismantled as part of a sweeping federal downsizing effort.
The agency’s goal, Zeldin said, is to "clear the way for manufacturers and consumers to be able to produce and use gas cans that are safe, compliant, and consumer friendly."
