Atlas Copco has launched the Easer, a new mobile drilling rig for hole opening.
The company touts its ability to drill up to 200 feet quick and efficiently.
The Easer uses standard 8-inch boring rods and a 9-inch pilot drill bit. It can boxhole bore and downream up to 29 inches in diameter and it can raisebore up to 47 inches in diameter. The gearbox rotates 180 degrees to switch from the boxhole boring function to downreaming and conventional raiseboring.
Raiseboring is a raise excavation technique for underground mining that has been used for more than four decades.
All equipment needed to operate the drill rig is a part of the carrier except for the rods. No site preparation is necessary for setup.
