Errickson Equipment continued the rollout of the company’s dual rotary drives, which help in drilling jobs where overburden is an issue, at the 2014 Ontario Ground Water Association expo, which was held April 3-5 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. It was the OGWA’s 62^nd annual convention.

The company said its new dual rotary drive system, introduced in advance of last December’s National Ground Water Association Expo in Nashville, is “creating a buzz within the drilling industry.” The company’s owner and designer, Jon Errickson, has put more than 40 years of experience into developing the system, which can add dual-rotary drilling and casing advancement capabilities to existing equipment.

Errickson has three models available to meet the scope of various drilling jobs.

• The CR-12 weighs in at 2,200 pounds and handles casing from 4 inches to 12 inches.
• The CR-16 weighs 2,800 pounds and works with casings from 4 inches to 16 inches.
• The CR-26 handles casings from 4 inches to 36 inches, and weighs 5,500 pounds.

Models range in torque from 55,000 to 180,000 foot pounds and range in static load from 155,000 pounds to 1.4 million pounds. All three models deliver up to 60 rpm. In addition, all three feature: heat-treated tool steel grips, top and bottom tapered roller bearings, R&R Planetary gear reduction, Garlock Klosure seals, vertical or horizontal use, several mounting configurations, and much more.

The company says its system allows companies of all sizes to expand their capabilities, widening the range of projects they can bid on and creating new revenue streams.
