Bruce
Beatty has accepted appointment to the position of product and business
development manager, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and raisebore for
Atlas Copco Construction Mining Technique USA LLC, effective July 18. In his
new role, Beatty will report directly to Gene Mattila, business line manager, rock
drilling tools.
Beatty had
been serving as a product specialist in shaft, HDD and tunneling techniques for
Atlas Copco’s Secoroc division. There he developed and established the current
HDD program that he introduced globally on behalf of Atlas Copco Secoroc. He
also provided technical and sales support and training to Atlas Copco customer
centers throughout the world. Beatty has a total of 30 years’ experience in
down-hole tooling for the mining and construction industries.

expand our presence and products into these specialty drilling business
segments, Bruce's knowledge, experience and enthusiasm will benefit company and
customers alike,” states Mattila.
Beatty
will be focusing on HDD shaft and raiseboring products for underground
construction and mining. The Atlas Copco HDD program, pioneered by Beatty,
consists of a matched set of rock drill tooling comprised of hard-rock pilot
bits and hard-rock hole openers.
