Sonic Drill Corp., manufacturer of full-sized sonic drill rigs, now offers a smaller, lighter version – the Sonic Probe. Featuring a lightweight footprint and small-size maneuverability, the Sonic Probe is engineered to drill through cobble material while providing continuous core samples. The Sonic Probe works by forcing oscillations down the drill string to allow it to buzz through a variety of materials – with or without any drilling fluid, and without producing any cuttings. It utilizes all standard direct-push tooling, and like the larger version, this mini rig also can be equipped with crawler tracks.
