The CM 785 drill from Atlas Copco CMT is built on the design of the 700-series’
drill rigs, combined with features and components common in the Atlas Copco ROC
crawler range. The new CM 785 handles five-meter pipes, and can reach a total
depth of 129 feet. The rotary head, supplying 4,500 ft./lbs. of torque and a
high volume of flushing air (862 cfm at 350 psi), powers the rig for drilling
holes up to 6.5 inches in diameter in a wide range of rock conditions. The
number of hoses and valves on the feed system is reduced, and the breakout
table is built in one fabricated piece, all to minimize the maintenance
requirement.
