A bumper crop of fish in Italy’s Lake Varese seemed a miracle when it occurred a few years ago. But in recent years, the miracle has been that the dying lake has come back to life. The rebirth is the result of a concentrated plan of environmental management that is powered by large submersible pumps from ITT Flygt unit.
Due to the varying complexity of projects and subsurface conditions, it is difficult to establish a rigid format to be followed in conducting geotechnical investigations. However, there are fundamental, required data that should be obtained and basic steps that should be followed for any project investigation.
There are plenty of things to gripe about these days ... So it was refreshing, indeed, to soak in all the positive vibes emanating from the National Ground Water Association’s 2008 Ground Water Expo and Annual Meeting, which took place Dec. 2-5, 2008.
