Downhole hammer and bit manufacturer Numa has added to their product lineup with the Patriot 85 DTH Hammer. The company says the new hammer is well suited for a range of applications, including foundation drilling, micropiling, oil and gas drilling, mining, geothermal, environmental drilling, HDD and water well drilling.

The Patriot 85 can drill hole diameters ranging from 7⅞ to 10 inches (200 to 254 millimeters). Numa says the new hammer offers advantages in penetration speed and longevity over competing products.

Numa says it manufactures the Patriot 85 from “the best material and under exacting conditions.” The 8-inch hammer’s advanced design features fewer internal components. It has a heavier piston than competing hammers and is best used with rigs having larger air consumption requirements. Numa says the Patriot 85 can drill at high frequency with less vibration and smooth operations, even in conditions with high heads of water.
