C&J Geothermal
assisted with implementing the energy-saving geothermal heating and cooling
system installed in theExtreme Makeover: Home Editionproject in
Indianapolis in March of 2009. The episode, which aired nationally on May 17,
follows the journey of a team of designers, contractors and several hundred
volunteers as they undertake the complete renovation of a local family's home.
In an
environmentally friendly donation, C&J Geothermal utilized one of Laibe
Corp.'s Versa-Drill V-100NG drilling rigs to bore 450 feet into the ground as
part of the geothermal heating and cooling system. Once the hole was drilled, a
fluid-filled earth loop was installed to utilize the Earth's temperature to
warm and cool the home and decrease monthly expenses. "Geothermal is about
as green as it gets," says Josh Abdnour, who formed C&J Well Drilling
with his wife Christy in 1996. "People are getting very interested in
it."
"We're very proud that one of our rigs was used
for such a noble and high-profile cause," states Jim Hopkins, president
and CEO of Laibe Corp. "The people withExtreme Makeover: Home Editionare
changing people's lives. To know that one of our rigs was able to assist in
that is a great feeling."
