The Groundwater Foundation hosts this year’s Festival Expedition in Grand Island, Neb. Mar. 17-18. Held in conjunction with the Children’s Groundwater Festival, the Expedition is a conference that explores how to hold a children’s water education event. Open to anyone interested in organizing a children’s water event of any size, it emphasizes the planning of larger events.
The Children’s Groundwater Fest-ival expects 1,800 children to attend this year. The Festival will feature four different stage shows, two outdoor displays, 12 stations in an exhibition hall and 40 classroom presenters. The Ex-pedition will look in-depth at Festival setup and training, provide a structured tour of the Festival and offer a question-and-answer session with Festival planners. A special two-hour workshop will focus on the best ideas for festivals, both large and small, and each conference attendee will take home a complete set of organizational materials for planning a water event.
Registration is open until March 7. Contact Festival Expedition coordinator Lorrie Benson at 800-858-4844 for further details.
