It's Almost NGWA Time

This week, I have a lot of drilling news to wrap up around the office before heading off next week for the National Ground Water Association's 2013 Groundwater Expo in Nashville. I have columnists and freelancers to wrangle, and features and industry news to corral. I don’t mind the busy. My readers benefit.

If you plan to attend NGWA, stop by the National Driller booth. We’re in 330, so hang a left on the way in and look for the 300s banner. We’re about mid-way back, right across from Mud Technology. I’ll be there, along with Publisher Dan Murfey and Sales Manager Dean Laramore.

Don’t forget to grab a copy of December’s National Driller when you get to the conference. There’s a lot in there to like, including an interview with Xylem Product Manager Chris Preston. He previews his presentation Submersible and Jet Pump Troubleshooting, held 12:15-1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Room 207 C/D.

We have a story on a soon-to-be-released product called Wellintel. Freelancer Holly Case spoke with company founders Marian Singer and Nicholas Hayes about developing the new sensor, and what the product can do for water systems professionals.

December’s issue also previews this year’s “H20 Talk” with Oregon State University Professor Michael Campana, titled “Hydrophilanthropy: What can you do?” Campana challenges groundwater professionals to think in different ways about helping to solve world water availability issues. His talk is scheduled during the Groundwater Expo opening and awards ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Music City Center’s Davidson Ballroom.

Lastly, you’ll find our three-page What’s New for 2014 product showcase. Think of it as a wish list. Many of the vendors will be in the expo waiting to tell you more about their products and services. How’s that for convenience?
