What Advice Do you Have for Graduates Looking for Drilling Jobs?
In this open letter to the spring 2021 Fleming College drilling graduates, drill trainer and host Brock Yordy discusses how to “find a company with vision” as your first step into the drilling industry. It’s Ask Brock episode 104.
“The fact that you have the fundamentals, and you’ve done theory and lectures and you’ve worked in the field — a lot of field time because that’s how we social distance, you are invaluable,” he says.
“Don’t settle. … Look for a company that’s progressing,” he says. “Look at their equipment. Look at the equipment they want to invest in. What are they doing differently? Are they using 21st century technologies and processes? Because you’ve just learned 21st century technology and processes.”
He also covers consistency, good choices and the high demand for well-trained drillers in the field.
