The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust will award its first-ever scholarship for the John O’Malley Scholarship Fund this year.

The award will be $5,000 and applications are being accepted as of April 1. The scholarship fund will award annual scholarships to undergraduate civil engineering students who have financial need and an interest in the deep foundations industry.

The fund was established with an initial donation and pledge of $100,000 from Case Foundation Company to fund a scholarship in honor of the company’s past president, John O’Malley. The award remembers O’Malley’s 40 years of service and leadership in the construction industry.

By making a donation of $1,000 or more to the fund by Aug. 1, 2015, contributors will receive special recognition as an original founding donor.

The DFI is an international association of contractors, engineers, academics and suppliers in the deep foundations industry with more than 3,300 members worldwide. For more information about the Deep Foundations Institute or to make a donation, visit www.dfi.org.
