Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett awarded Reichdrill Inc. the 2014 Exporting Award for the state’s north central region.

“We are truly honored to receive this award. Recognition of our hard work and growth over the years is much appreciated by everyone at our company,” said Reichdrill Vice President Patrick Garrity, who accepted the award.

The Corbett administration created the Governor’s ImPAct Awards in 2013 to recognize Pennsylvania companies and entrepreneurs for creating jobs, developing ideas, reaching new markets and making positive contributions in local communities. The state’s regional economic development partners — the Partnership for Regional Economic Performance (PREP) network —make nominations for each award. Each PREP region is eligible to submit up to five nominations per category. This year, 247 nominations were received, out of which 50 companies were chosen for the ImPAct Awards.

More than 700 business leaders and economic partners throughout the state attended the awards ceremony this year at a luncheon in Harrisburg, Pa., on May 30. The awards are coordinated by DCED, Team PA and Journal Multimedia, and sponsored by the state’s private-sector partner Team PA.

Reichdrill, a subsidiary of Hughes Drilling, is based in Philipsburg, Pa. The company was founded in 1944 by Wendell Reich.
