New Variable-speed Pump Controller

July 17, 2012

Goulds Water Technology, a Xylem brand, introduces the Aquavar SPD Plus variable-speed pump controller. Designed for the professional pump installer and built for demanding conditions, the SPD Plus was developed specifically for commercial submersible and aboveground centrifugal pumps. The SPD Plus adjusts motor speed to match the hydraulic needs of the system and maintain pressure.

The SPD Plus is rated for the higher amp requirements typical of submersible pumps, and the 230V drives, UL-listed, can be used on either three-phase or single-phase power supplies. The unit has flexible NEMA 1 and 3R enclosure offerings: The outdoor enclosure is rated to 122 degrees F, without de-rating the drive, while the indoor-rated enclosure is suitable for use indoors or for mounting within a user-supplied enclosure. External monitors may be connected to the drive for monitoring pump speed (4-20 mA output based on speed), pump run, and system fault. The controller features has the capability to adjust the time delay in between each dry well fault.

The Aquavar SPD Plus is engineered for multiple applications, including irrigation, agriculture, commercial building booster, rural water systems, and upgrades and retrofitting. For more information, visit www.bit.ly/AquavarSPDPlus.
