Orenco Systems, a Sutherlin, Ohio-based provider of sustainable wastewater collection and treatment solutions, has won the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) prestigious Innovative Technology Award for the nutrient-removal configuration of its AdvanTex Treatment System.

The AdvanTex Treatment System is designed for unsewered communities or commercial properties needing a cost-effective, easy-to-maintain and reliable solution for environmentally sustainable treatment of wastewater flows. The treated effluent can be disposed of subsurface, used for irrigation or re-use, or permitted for surface discharge, meeting the most stringent requirements. More than 25,000 AdvanTex units have been installed throughout North America and in more than a dozen countries worldwide.

On Oct. 18, Orenco will be officially presented with its Innovative Technology Award during a ceremony in Los Angeles, at WEFTEC 2011, the largest annual water-quality conference and exhibition in the world.

“We are honored to be the recipient of the prestigious award from WEF for our AdvanTex System,” says Grant Denn, sales manager. “We strive to develop and bring the most innovative solutions to the market, and are encouraged by the acceptance and recognition that these efforts have brought. And with WEF’s contribution to the wastewater industry, we feel that WEFTEC is an excellent forum in which to display our technologies.”
