The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with ITT Water Technology Inc., has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 21,000 sump pumps and effluent pumps due to an electric shock/electrocution hazard.
The recall involves Goulds, RedJacket and Bell & Gossett
Pumps used in residential applications to pump wastewater and sewage. The pumps
are sky blue or red, and display the brand names Goulds, Red Jacket or Bell
& Gossett. These pumps were installed in new construction or as replacement

hazard if touched. Consumers have been urged to stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed, and are strongly cautioned not to
touch the pump, the water around it or the surrounding floor area.
