For January’s issue of The Driller, editor Jeremy Verdusco wrote about pausing to review how you do business, and how you can do it better. As a contractor, do you give your business an annual checkup?

What I do has worked for 20 years. Why should I change?

I usually do one, but like New Year’s resolutions, a few weeks go by and it’s back to the same.

We develop a plan, but usually only implement half of it.

We do a full review of training, equipment and practices, make a plan to improve and stick with it.
