Center Rock Inc. Unveils the Next Generation of LP Drill: The XLP Drill

Center Rock Inc. is recognized as the leader in the design, manufacture and application of the LP Drill®. LP Drills® are comprised of multiple DTH hammers housed in a low-profile canister and each hammer is outfitted with a carbide button bit. Compressed air is supplied to the canister drill to both cycle the pistons in the DTH hammers and provide hole cleaning. Rotation must also be provided with a Kelley bar or drill rod utilizing a side inlet swivel, or with a Center Rock rotating ratchet attachment.
As today’s construction market continues to demand solutions to large diameter drilling projects, Center Rock responds to the challenge. The new XLP DrillTM is our latest canister design with many notable features differentiating it from its’ predecessor as well as any competition. The XLP DrillTM is 12” (0.3m) shorter than the LP Drill® with total height of 48” (1.22m), making it the lowest profile canister drill. The XLPTM integrates the newly introduced, high-frequency, RX®80LP DTH hammer with integrated air selectors to ensure maximum productivity with available air. Lastly, the XLP DrillTM utilizes 10” (0.25m) diameter RX® bits with the most robust shank and greatest cross section of any 8” (0.2m) class bit shank.
