DOE is developing domestic EV production by funding these 25 long-term projects
The Biden-Harris Administration recently announced over $3 billion in grants for 25 projects across 14 states. The selected projects, once fully contracted, are projected to support over 8,000 construction jobs and more than 4,000 operating jobs. This initiative is part of the Administration's Investing in America agenda, which aims to strengthen domestic energy supply chains and support the clean energy transition.
The grants, administered by the Department of Energy's Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC), will retrofit, expand, and build new domestic facilities for battery-grade processed critical minerals, battery components, battery manufacturing, and recycling. The selected projects span strategic segments across the supply chain, including the extraction and recycling of critical minerals like lithium, graphite, and manganese, and the manufacture of essential battery components.
