Grouter Plugged by Bentonite Polymer? Ask Brock has Tips
On episode 130 of Ask Brock, host and The Driller contributing writer Brock Yordy talks about how to troubleshoot on a drilling project when bentonite polymer plugs the grouter and tremie.
“I’ve plugged some tremie in my time. I’ve had to clean out grouters. I think the only thing worse is when we have to do both,” Yordy says. First, he says he looks at the temperature, quantity and quality of the water. Then, he looks at the polymer itself. Is it a good quality and not beyond its shelf life? Finally, he recommends consulting the experts at your mud supplier for their advice if needed.
