On today’s Drilling In-Site, episode 13, we talk to Jim Tucci, national sales manager for Flomatic. We brought Jim on because he’s kind of an industry jack of all trades. The New York-based company recently named him to his current role, but he has worked in geothermal, environmental and water well drilling — even getting certified by the NGWA.

“To be a driller, you have to be a special person. … Everybody that’s in the industry knows what I’m saying. Drilling is not for everybody. Hard word, dirty work, dangerous work — I, personally, loved it.”

During his time as a driller, Tucci was recognized by the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) as a certified well driller and pump installer (CWD/PI) and as a certified vertical closed-loop driller (CVCLD). In addition, he has a master’s in environmental science, and degrees in physics and water resources. Given his breadth of experience, he had a lot to say about working on both the operator and manufacturer sides of the industry, ongoing education, and other topics. Check out today’s episode to hear more.
