NGWREF Asking for Grant Applicants
Grant Awards Will be Made on or Before Oct. 1
The National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation is seeking grant applications for groundwater-related research projects.
The group’s board of directors has approved $15,000 for research grants, $35,000 for grants for developing nations projects and $10,000 for grants from the USA Groundwater Fund. Interested applicants, which must be 501(c)(3) or equivalent, can submit an application before June 30.
Grant awards will be made on or before Oct. 1.
Research grants will be awarded to projects that “stimulate new knowledge, information, programs, and products to advance groundwater science and technology.” The Groundwater Research Fund also looks at the project’s focus on groundwater sustainability and potential to “enhance the future effectiveness of the groundwater professions and maximize groundwater’s benefit to society.”
The Developing Nations Fund offers small grants to groundwater supply programs or water system-related education or training programs. The developing nations grants focus on projects in low-income countries (as defined by the World Bank or other international body). Applicants should have a history of at least three years of demonstrated success managing such projects.
The USA Groundwater Fund provides groundwater grants to help meet groundwater needs domestically. The fund focuses on education and training of groundwater professionals, public education and awareness, and supply projects for potable water.
