The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) recently named a new member to the Board of Trustees for its Educational Trust.

 

Mark J. Rice was elected as an at-large member for a two-year term ending in December 2015. Rice has practiced law since 1986, and currently is partner at McNeil, Silveira, Rice & Wiley in San Rafael, Calif. His specialties include representing public and private works contractors, designers, suppliers and investment property owners. He has numerous clients in the deep foundations industry, and frequently lectures on legal topics related to construction. He recently addressed DFI’s SuperPile 2012, where he discussed the legal risks of pile driving for the construction and engineering industries.

 

Rice holds undergraduate degrees from the University of California in Berkeley, and a JD from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, Calif.
