Michael Infurnari has been appointed director of development for the WateReuse Research Foundation, based in Alexandria, Va. With nearly 30 years of professional fundraising experience, Infurnari previously served at the Institute for Health Technology Studies, the research and education foundation of the Advanced Medical Technology Association in Washington, D.C.  In his role at the WateReuse Research Foundation, Infurnari will develop philanthropic resources and the fundraising potential of the foundation, in support of its research mission.

“I’m delighted and honored to join WateReuse because I see a universal cause, a compelling need, and vast potential in advancing water recycling and desalination and their benefits to communities, industries and humanity,” says Infurnari.

Infurnari was a fundraising consultant for more than 17 years with Community Counseling Service Co. (CCS), managing its Washington, D.C., office. He worked with a variety of nonprofit clients, especially trade and professional associations and their foundations, to raise major gifts and grants through capital campaigns and foundation initiatives.

“We look forward to significantly expanding our research portfolio, in service to our subscribers, but also because water scarcity issues will be prominent on everyone’s agenda over the next five to 10 years,” says Wade Miller, WateReuse executive director. “Part of our strategic plan calls for a strengthening of resources so that we can continue to be impactful, since we’re the only organization dedicated to water recycling and desalination solutions. We’re pleased to have Mike on board to assist us.”
