Baroid
Industrial Drilling Products (IDP) is pleased to welcome John Berry, P.G. as
its newest senior account representative. Berry has more than 25 years of
experience in the field of geology, environmental science and a variety of
drilling disciplines including: foundation drilling, slurry wall, geothermal,
micro-tunneling, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), water well and
environmental remediation.
In his new
role, Berry will
utilize his extensive experience in the construction drilling industry, and his
knowledge within the areas of geology, hydrogeology and related support
services to continue developing new drilling products and services with the
Baroid IDP Research and Development Laboratory.
Most
recently, John was a construction drilling manager, responsible for developing
new drilling products and working in the field with drilling contractors. Prior
to that, he held positions as a hydrogeologist, a geologist in the petroleum
industry, and as a landsman.
Berry has run a vast array of mud and
slurry systems with many forms of polymers and bentonite. He is skilled with
foundation slurries, liquid, granular and Pac polymers. Beyond that, he has a
documented track record of achievements and deep understanding of mud/slurry
chemistry and geological formations, the issues they present and the solutions
to overcome them. Berry
also is a specialist with drilling products, and draws upon his experience in
all drilling disciplines to promote the use of slurry drilling fluids,
bentonite grouts, polymers and chemical additives.
