The Technical Support Working Group (TSWG), the federal interagency group focusing on developing new technology for countering terrorism, in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has sponsored the development of two software tools that address water supply and water source contamination and consequence management.

One of the products, PipelineNet, can be used to model the flow and concentration of contaminants in a city's drinking water pipeline infrastructure, also estimating the population at risk due to the contaminants. The second product, RiverSpill, has the capability to track and model the flow and concentration of contaminants in water supplies. For additional information on the software, refer to Technical Briefs on the TSWG Web site at www.tswg.gov.
