More than 120 mineral-industry educators, public relations personnel and school teachers attended the 9th Annual National Minerals Education Conference held recently in Spokane, WA.
Hosted by the Northwest Mining Association, the Conference's main focus was to educate educators on strides the mining industry has made in protecting the environment and the critical role of mining to civilization.
Attendees toured several area mines and heard presentations on topics including the future of minerals education, effective environmental education and community education concerning mining. The conference was sponsored by mining companies mining associations and government agencies.
