The geothermal heat loop industry has seen tremendous growth over the last decade. With that growth, there have been significant advances in geothermal grout technology. For the contractor and system designer, it is important to know as much as possible about each grout type to ensure not only selection of the proper material, but proper mixing and placement, too. Geothermal drilling is not new. In fact, some drillers have been involved in geothermal heat pump (GHP) work for decades. Continuing uncertainty in a volatile energy market has created concern over the cost of both residential and commercial heating and cooling. Those unpredictable costs have made many take a serious look at the proven return on investment offered by GHPs.
