The New York Geothermal Energy Organization (NY-GEO) is excited to announce the opening of its annual Top Jobs competition for 2024, sponsored by GeoStar. Since 2014, Top Jobs has showcased the remarkable achievements of professionals advancing geothermal technology in New York State. This year, the competition is expanding with three distinct categories: Residential, Commercial, and Drilling, each set to highlight the diverse capabilities within the geothermal industry.

The Top Jobs Competition, a staple at the NY-GEO annual conference since 2015, aims to spotlight the exceptional skill, creativity, and innovation of system designers and installers. Bill Nowak, the executive director of NY-GEO, expressed enthusiasm about the new categories, stating, "This expansion allows us to appreciate and reward the outstanding work across different sectors of the geothermal community."

Why Participate in Top Jobs?

Participation in Top Jobs offers a unique platform for professionals to showcase their geothermal projects that demonstrate:

  • Ingenuity in system design and integration.

  • Efficiency through high-performance equipment and reduced power consumption.

  • Quality of installation and materials.

  • Accessibility features like remote monitoring and control.

  • Financial savvy through innovative financing and demonstrating return on investment.

  • Overcoming significant obstacles such as space constraints or gaining stakeholder support.

These projects not only push the envelope in geothermal application but also serve as influential case studies for policymakers and the public, illustrating the tangible benefits of this sustainable technology in tackling challenging energy scenarios.
