Calling all manufacturers and suppliers in geothermal! The Geothermal Marketing Coalition needs you to raise your hand to be counted.

In a news release, the Geothermal Marketing Coalition, which includes representatives from state organizations, labor and industry groups, say it is pulling together companies to “show a united front when we go in front of politicians and utilities to try to get support for network geothermal projects and state initiatives like those in New York, Massachusetts and Colorado.” The coalition grew out of discussions with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and now includes representatives from the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and other geothermal stakeholders.

The coalition asks companies that work any aspect of geothermal, from HVAC to drilling to manufacturing and supply, to send an email to info@igshpa.org. Include:

  • The name of the company
  • Its connection to the geothermal industry
  • And that it would support future geothermal initiatives

The coalition makes clear that this initiative simply shows a company’s support for potential future initiatives, and is not binding in any way. The group wants to talk with one voice to policy-makers to help the industry progress, particularly as federal and state initiatives raise the demand for geothermal — and the people who design and install it.
