Florida's annual convention/tradeshow.

The Florida Ground Water Association (FGWA) held its 2004 convention and trade show May 13-15, at the Sheraton World Resort in Orlando. The convention's theme, “Promoting Professionalism through Education,” was backed up by the event's offering of continuing education credits - a first in Florida. Educational sessions covered a wide array of topics - well permitting, drilling fluids, well system trouble-shooting, good business practices, disinfection and well abandonment among them. Speakers included CETCO's George Dugan, Dave Hanson of Design Water Technologies, Tony Guest from the International School of Well Drilling, Anna Marie Superchi of the South Florida Water Management District, B.J. Jarvis from the Southwest Florida Water Management District and Harley Means of the Florida Geological Survey.

There was plenty to learn on the trade show floor as well; nearly 60 booths gave attendees a chance to get caught up on the latest industry offerings during the nine hours of exhibit time. Attendees even had the opportunity to earn two continuing education credits by checking out the exhibits.

2004 convention sponsors were Wyo-Ben Inc., Grundfos, Coast Pump, Flexcon Industries and N&N Drilling Supply.

Looking ahead to 2005, the annual FGWA show will be back at the Sheraton World Resort next May 5-7.
