The Senate recently approved legislation to strengthen the ability for law enforcement officials to protect dams and other Bureau of Reclamation facilities across the West. The legislation would not create a new law enforcement agency within the bureau, but allows the bureau to contract with existing agencies and reimburse them for law enforcement service.
