American Augers Seminar Will Explain Rock Drilling and Solids Control
Includes a three-day session on directinal Drilling at Astec's corporate headquarters - providing a realistic job site.
Rock formations pose a major challenge to directional drillers. In order to drill in rock, many techniques have to be modified and special tools are required. One such tool is the mud motor, a device that changes the flow of drilling fluid into mechanical movement that can turn carbide or diamond cutters. Navigating the drill through rock also requires special equipment and knowledge. The seminar will offer no-nonsense information about evaluating soil conditions, choosing downhole tooling, locating and navigating, mud sampling and testing, and control of solids in the mud. In addition, the seminar will discuss selection of drill rigs, and care and selection of drill pipe. All of these topics are important in rock drilling.
