A lot of time and money has been invested in recovery wells that don't live up to production expectations. Theoretically, a well will only produce as much water as the formation will transmit; however, many wells are only producing a small fraction of their potential.
In screened wells, the problem is primarily in two areas; 1) matching of screen and filter pack materials with size of grains in the formation and 2) proper development (aggressive) of the well after completion of the filter pack.
