A team of scientists has developed resins that surpass existing perchlorate removal resins in capacity.

 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a revised underground injection control (UIC) program permitting guidance for wells that use diesel fuels during hydraulic fracturing activities.  

The longer the shutdown goes on, the more likely it will affect those in the drilling trades.

The NGWA says the goal is to help private well owners reduce risks to their drinking water.

 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently reinforced the current trend of natural gas-powered equipment when it granted certification to two of GE’s Waukesha engines for mobile, non-road applications: the L7044, a 1,680-horsepower, 1,200 kW 12-cylinder engine, and the smaller 5794, a 1,380 horsepower, 1,000 kW 12-cylinder engine.  

The company admitted no wrong-doing but did commit to $18 million in emissions controls.
