GeoEngineers Puts $30,000 Towards Geotechnical Coastal Research
Firm Donates $10,000 Grant, $20,000 Fellowship to University of Massachusetts Amherst
GeoEngineers, a Seattle-based earth science and technology company, has given the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s College of Engineering $10,000 for an unrestricted grant along with a $20,000 fellowship to fund coastal research.
Professors Guoping Zhang and Don J. DeGroot of the geotechnical engineering project within the civil and environmental engineering department are overseeing the research. The work will focus on the geotechnical engineering aspects in the coastal research. The research is part of GeoEngineers’ coastal initiative plan to find new and better ways to help improve and save the nation's coastline.
