U.S. Representative Thomas M. Reynolds of New York has been awarded the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence.

U.S. Representative Thomas M. Reynolds has been awarded the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence for his consistent support of American manufacturers and their employees.

The award is given by the NAM -- one of the nation's largest and most influential business groups - to senators and representatives based on their voting records on key legislation affecting the manufacturing community. Its recipients have shown support for a pro-growth, pro-manufacturing, pro-worker agenda.

Reynolds represents the 27th District of New York state, which includes nine counties in the western part of the state. He was elected to Congress in November 1998 after having served in the New York State Assembly. The 50-year-old Congressman is a licensed real estate and insurance broker.

Members of Congress are notified of "Key Votes" used to determine eligibility for the award. Key manufacturing votes for the 106th Congress include permanent normal trade relations with China, tax cuts, trade expansion and e-commerce expansion among others.

"Congressman Reynolds' voting record shows a true understanding of manufacturing's key role in the strength of our economy and a willingness to cast the critical votes that will boost competitiveness, job creation and prosperity for working Americans," said Douglas Bingler, President of Goulds Pumps Water Technologies, a NAM member company located in Reynolds' district. "On behalf of Goulds Pumps, ITT Industries and our employees, I thank Congressman Tom Reynolds for championing the causes that will allow U.S. manufacturers and their employees to continue to drive our economy to new heights."
